Ever been annoyed by all those ads and banners on the internet that often take longer to download than everything else on the page? Install Adblock Plus now and get rid of them. Right-click on a banner and choose "Adblock" from the context menu - the banner won't be downloaded again. Or click Adblock Plus icon in the toolbar to see all elements of the page and block the banners. You can use filters with wildcards or even regular expressions to block complete banner factories.

:flag-green: Features:
* Filter subscriptions - download filter lists maintained by somebody else automatically, will be processed in addition to own filters
* Dynamic list of blockable elements - updated in real-time, shows the tab you have open right now
* Hit counter - shows how often a certain filter was used
* Disable filters and subscriptions individually
* Automatic daily backups of the filter list - just in case
* Element hiding - hide ads that can't be blocked
* Support for over 30 languages

:bell: What's new
* Support for Thunderbird, SeaMonkey Mail, K-Meleon and Songbird
* New Adblock Plus icons
* Optimized filter processing (especially for large lists)
* Fixed context menu when "Check banner links" option is switched on
* Tabs on Flash and Java should no longer break page layout
* Closed a way for web sites to detect Adblock Plus by abusing bug 292789 in Gecko
* Made handling of different object types more consistent
Changelog

:bug16: Known Issues:
For other issues and workarounds, see MozillaZine's list of Problematic Extensions. Adblock Plus 0.5 isn't listed separately on this MozillaZine page, it shares the issues of Adblock. The Adblock Plus listing there really means "Adblock Plus 0.6 and higher".

Single-language builds in other languages
K-Meleon builds and installation instructions

Adblock Filterset.G Updater is not needed for Adblock Plus 0.6 and 0.7 (and higher), because they have their own built-in updaters. Filterset.G Updater works fine with Adblock Plus 0.7, it just isn't necessary for it.

Wait. If Im getting this right, those that say they put it on didnt have it before......WHY? It, besides NoScript and Tab Mix Plus, is the most useful Firefox extension and Firefox shouldnt be used without it.

There is always a first time. Firefox doesn't come pre-installed with every extension that someone has decreed that "it shouldn't be used without it", and happily so, because tastes vary.
Best regards,
Tony
